Hey guys,

When my car is finished off in the next week or 2, I'll be dropping Kaz's GPX down to have a new exhaust put on. In doing so we are going to make a new collector pipe - from the headers to the cat. As we all know the standard collector pipe is very restrictive & the 2 banks join in somewhat of a collision point.

Now UAS have a product like this (pictured below) but @ $700 its not really the best bang for buck...



When we make one up for Kaz's car, if there is enough interest, i'll make a jig for it so we can churn out a number of these things at a reasonable price. We are also looking to do a deal where you can buy both the pipe & high flow steel cat to suit.

On its own, the pipe gives 4-5 atwkw gain, couple that with a high flow cat, you're looking at 10-12atwks. Its the best bang for buck exhaust mod you can do, short of replacing the whole system. I'll be doing dyno test results with Kaz's car.

It will be a direct bolt on fit for a GPX, and will only require a flange modification to suit a GR.

If you already have RPW extractors, then they wont be of use to you as they come with a good collector pipe.

So, if you are interested, let me know! I've not got prices yet & wont until we make one, but I'd say it'll be around the $400 mark.

so your saying the RPW collecter pipe which has the the sweeping bend from the headers to the normal pipe (you know what i mean?) is as good as the UAS one or similar?
the UAS one looks a lot smoother and higher flowing than the RPW cos the rear collector has to do a 180 degree turn with the RPW one..

Im not comparing RPWs with UAS pipes at all. Im saying that these will not fit on a car that has rpw extractors.

Are they compatible with other brand extractors? If so could you let me know what brand. The reason I ask is I have a GR and have had a new 2.5" cat back system put on. The plan was to do my exhaust in 2 stages, cat back then collector pipe and extractors. Cheers

Not every car is the same, but for the FTO that's how it is.
This replacement part being the collector.

Not every car is the same, but for the FTO that's how it is.
This replacement part being the collector.

thats cleared things up
so with all this Headers-collector-cat-mufler-pipe-muffler-tip u can get 3inch for all of these and it would be a 3inch all the way exhaust system is that right?
howcome theres 2 mufflers in the list?
and also what about the extractors there not there in the list?

3 inch is too big for the FTO, you'll loose back pressure & therefore power if you make the entire system from 3 inch. Standard FTO size is 2.25 inch, the best upgrade size is 2.5 inch. You can have whatever tip size you like, it makes no difference to performance.

The first muffler is actually a resonator. It helps quieten the noise down.

There are no extractors involved in this, its simply a 2.25 inch stock collector pipe replacement. Its bolts directly to the FTO cast iron headers & cat.

Definitely going ahead, the hold up is my car. When its finished, Kaz's car goes in for this

Cool so what after market headers will fit on to these?
Will they have to be a custom set?

as far as I know the Hurricane extractors are the same as the RPW ones as RPW copyed them.
