Central Locking Question

Hey,
just a few questions about the central locking on the GP, still cant seem to work it out.

I have 2 buttons on the key, 1 small one and 1 big one. To lock / unlock the car I use the big one, what does the smaller button do?

Also, I've noticed the FTO autolocks itself after about 30 seconds, it can get annoying if I'm just parked listening to music because I have to unlock it otherwise the red light flashes.

Is it only my central locking system or is it the FTO in general?

cheers

I think u have a aftermarket alarm dont ya. If so then the smaller button is usually the one to unlock your boot automatically. Most aftermarket alarms has that function but you have to purchase additional items on top of the alarm to use it.

well does yeah car have an alarm and immobilizer in the first place. But usually the smaller button is for the boot. Like I said, most aftermarket alarms come with the auto boot opening function but u have to purchase additional items to get it working. Btw...are the buttons on the key itself or is it a seperate item??

for my current(mongoose m80) and my previous alarm(brant)
the second button was just to silence the beeps when arming/disarming the car

Yea thats the same with mine, click that small button then the big one and it should unlock without a beep.

Alright will try the smaller button tomorrow.

Any idea where I can get a decent system (locks and unlocks both doors) and installed for cheap?

Currently it doesn't open or close any doors, instead just activates the alarm.

cheers
