Been using bp ultimate for a very long time now and been very happy with it also sometimes been using mobile 8000 all the same to me. just yesterday i was forced to take Caltex vortex 98 and i don't know what the hell happen but i thing they mixed up the tankers when refueling and sent the jet fuel tanker to caltex . i couldnt beleive the difference i've nearly crashed 3 times when i plant it round a corner and the car wants to kill me THE LSD counts for nothing when both wheels are spinning. .the car sounds completely different at high and low revs more tinnie up high and like Barrie White down low all i can say is i will be going to Caltex near Macqurai Uni from now on. any one else had a similar experience

this car is like cocain its like a drug cost a sh*t load of money and turns me on big time

Jetfuel ??? i dont think that would make the car faster...it might even caus a few problems.
But other then that i agree with the other part. When i switched from vpower to bp ultimate i definately noticed a change in the tone of my car and it was more responsive as well.

haha

Its either your one or another,

1.) Your on Cocain yourself :P haha
2.) They might have mixed up the TANKS maybe putting 100Octane inside your car now, Instead of 98 i dont no if it makes much of a differents but meh.. The way your explaining it is like UNBELIVEABLE and instead of running 14 down race way you might even d a 10flat.

;) :D :P

I'm really intrigued by this. I was under the impression that Ultimate was better than Vortex. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I get a discount with Caltex 'cause I work for Woolworths, so if it's jsut as good, or even better than BP, as is being suggested here, I'd rather get Vortex.

I get 520kms with Caltex Vortex 98Octane.

480kms with BP Ultimate 98 octane.

Shell V-Power vaires from 480-520kms

I liie caltex there good. :)

This could be subject to the city you're in but generally BP and Shell get their petrol from the same refinery. I've heard from study's conducted that caltex fuel's were dirty in comparison to BP and Shell. Some cases even offering fuel listed as 98 octane when it's closer to 95. The entire industry and OPEC is all bullshit I.M.O....fkn conspiracy

MRT and a few FSAE people from the University of Sydney did a bit of a fuel test a while ago, and you might be interested to know that their findings were that Vortex 98 was the best of the 98 octance bunch from a performance perspective.

Obviously there are many other factors to consider, but it's an interesting read nonetheless.

I have been monitoring my fuel consumption for quite awhile and have used every major 98Octane fuels. No noticable difference as traffic/weather conditions are different everyday.
I normally go for Premium98 from 7-Eleven as they buy fuels from Caltex anyway, and abit cheaper too.

Yeah, i used to work at 7-Eleven bouser in newcastle 3years ago but im not sure if they are still buying from Caltex now.
Maybe 98oct is not available at your station. The one i go to is along crystal street, paramatta rd. They gave 98Oct.

well i work for Bp, obviously i use ultimate, i get around 560-580 km with at least 30k left with Bp Ultimate. Have to say, its the best fuel ive used. And in regards to the jetfuel tanker switch, thats not possible, because before the fuel tanker is sent to refill the fuel station tanks, there is a list of process and each tanker is checked for correct fuel, fuel levels, before being sent out.

Quality....

I guess everyone has their own opinion and I guess that it fuel quality changes over time, but I must admit, generally the two that people recommend are either BP or Caltex.

Having said this, ill often use standard shell fuel in the 4WD I have.

well after reading this it sounds like i should ditch vpower and try the caltex alternative lol

btw any particular reason that Vpower seems to cop a floggin on here has anyone had any problems with it ??
