Trade account for buying parts etc

I've been thinking about this for quite a while now & think that it might work pretty well if it is possible..

Would we be able to set up a trade account in each city / state, with an Auto Parts store - Bursons, Autobarn, Repco / whatever .. whereby if we go to that particular store, we can get discounts on whatever purchases we make.. and bulk purchases as well..

I would think that the store would go for it, since it means that they get more of the customers that would normally just go to the closest store, or another competitor entirely..

no sh*t ..

I have trade accounts I can use at a few places, but not everyone does .. what I'm suggesting is something that any club member can use if they go in & put it on the FTO Aus account.

That would require us registering FTO Aus as a business...

A hot topic that has been done to death in the com area. The benfits of doing so are unfortunately far outweighed by the cons & amount of work behine the scenes. ABN, Bus name, BAS statements etc.

this is probably a bit different due to the size of the businesses you are targeting, but for some of the fitness forums, a lot of suppliers offer discounts to members of certain forums? Not sure if this is relevant - maybe you would have to offer advertising on the site?

Some supplier will do non official business discounts for suppliers, you can only ask.

Its just that if we start taking money for site advertising, its takes us back to having to start a business.
