just want to sus out what number of km's was on the clock when you guys picked up your fto's
and also how common(rare?) is it for them to be wound back? i do realise they are digitally displayed but im guessing it is still possible? and how can one tell, if at all?
reason i ask is becuase there are a few at this dealer which have around 40k and 60k for 95 models. Haven't checked them out in person (quite far away from me). What should i ask from them to prove the km's are legit?
cheers

this has been discussed several time before.
I got my '95 GPX with 122,990km on it last year. It wasnt driven much by the previous owner.
That means it was averaging less than 10,000km a year. That sounds quite low but reasonable as well.
The dealer your talking about selling a 14yr fto with 60,000km on it.
60,000/14 = 4285 km/yr ------> suspiciously low.
I think the mechanical speedos would be quite easy to wind back while the electronic speedos are harder but not impossible to crack.

If it's been recently imported from japan could you say "it's low km because japanese owners don't drive their cars very much/far."
Or is that total bs?

Mine had done 51K when i picked it up, but its a 99 model. Pretty sure that was genuine as it still had the service stickers on it. One of the others I grabbed had 16K on it and that was a prefacelift (Kaz has that one now), but that arrived in country in 99 and wasnt cmplied till this year.
