ok so if u look at my other topic which is
http://www.ftoaustralia.com/modules.php ... ic&t=17522
thats the set up im getting done to my car..
now i need a piggyback suitable to run that...
price range is nothing above $900
i was going for the haltech interceptor but after my mechanic tuned one on a liberty the other week they said it was terrible to tune and didnt have many settings and it didnt show a live reading from the engine etc...
so now im thinking emanage ultimate unless someone can propose another one or that the haltech is actually the better one to get?
thanks

I would recommend the haltech as I hear its a far superior piggyback with gains of up to 30kw atw, but only if your tuner is able to tune a haltech properly. Aza is getting his haltech put in real soon so he might let you in on any quirks.

Here are the three that i know of:

- Haltech Interceptor
- GReddy Emanage Ultimate
- UniChip

I have heard nothing but good things about the EManage.

Also, if you can get a tuner there to tune it, the NZ made Link's are fantastic...

If your price range is $900 then go the emange ultimate. It has the most features and bang for buck in the price range.

Remember you can always upgrade it later.

Just make sure you find a tuner that will tune it. Some tuners wont tune cause they are idiots and dont know how

yeah im heading down the ultimate path after reading about it seems to have a lot of features
whereas the interceptor i couldnt find the featurs anywhere but people on here say its a lot better...
u get 20+kw for intereceptor
and like 10-15kw for ultimate

There are definitely more potential gains with the haltech, but if your tuner is unable to tune it then maybe the Ultimate is your best option. Also I don't think you'll get an interceptor for $900, the ultimate is definitely a cheaper option.

Have you not still got the emanage blue? Why not just use that :? There's no fancy features you need....

It's better that they don't touch it than blow up your engine.

Emanage will do, haltech is more expensive and your tuner might not know how to tune it.

To be honest I think we're splitting hairs. Im yet to see concrete proof of anyone making more than 15kws with any piggback.

Exactly, you already have an Emanage blue, use that. You will definitely increase power, torque and economy, but don't be one of those "but my mate has the same mods why does my car make 1kw less than his?" fellas.

Also, because the eManage is module based, it can scale with future plans. IMO if I could justify the spend, I would have one ASAP

I will be getting the Haltech put in and tuned on the 6th of may so I will fill you in then on the power gains on it then :D

as for price for the Haltech if there is a good number of ppl that want one I may be able to get a good price for you all.

Hey Aza, how much did it cost you roughly for the unit and the labour to put it in and tune it? Just curious, thinking of going down the haltech path after I get some decent headers.

I got the Haltech for a supper low price of $650, to fit and tune will cost aprox $650-$700.
as for getting a good set of headers always a good thing but I still havn't got any yet  its only a quick tune to adjust the Haltech to any new mod.

Thats quite interesting. I might pick up the interceptor first then....hmmm

Found one on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Haltech-Intercep ... .m20.l1116

$770 shipped.

Im a little worried about compatibility though. Will this particular interceptor work in my fto or do I have to buy a haltech interceptor with a particular model number. The ebay ad says it came out of a landrover :?
