Hi all.
Does anyone have any pictures of the under carriage of the FTO?
Looking at doing my exhaust, but want to know what I have to work with.
Simon, maybe you have some pics?

If by that time no-one else does, would be appreciated.

Front to mid part is easy (if you going from the flexi back), straight thru the tunnel
It's round the back wheels where things get a little tight!
Routing 3" through was a mission, would be interesting to see how others had done it
Hope that helps a little

Found one of my under car shot. This is from the cat back to resonator, then off to the left it then goes up over the rear trailing arm.

I can't tell, is part of that press bend? What size is that? Changed for the turbo engine?
Mr C, what size is on yours?

Nah all mandrel bent, all stainless, 2.5" - not changed for turbo.

Thanks guys, those pics help heaps.
The part I am most intreaged with is over the rear axle.
If i can find the pic of the EVO I saw with the kit on, I'm trying to aim for that.
Not the pic I was after, bit will do.
How the entire run is straight until the 35deg bend to the muffler bumper lip.
I am wondering if with the FTO, the exhaust wraps over the rear axle, and then runs on a 45deg angle heading to the bumper, with the canon inline so it is on an angle.
I know, I know, so god damn rice, etc.
But I have an idea, and am wondering if it's do-able.
The end result will be worth it, even if your not a canon fan.

Probably a huge N00b questions
But
What is stopping the exhaust from going onto the drivers side of the car, so the muffler can be inline with the bumper lip???
Wouldnt have to do a 45deg angle then.
I know from factory why it is on the left, due to muffler under hang.

You gotta understand that that amount of space just isn't there in an FTO

What for sorry?
To route on the right side,
or
to do a 45deg bend past the axle to bumper lip?

My bad, the first one
Have a look at my first pic and you can just see how wide the fuel tnak is (unlike the Evo's split one)
AFAICS an FTO exhaust has to come through the left rear suspension assembly, don't think it will come through the right, definitely not the middle

I figured the pipe couldnt come through the middle like the evo. pity.
But wasn't sure how wide the petrol tank was.
Damn.
Options are, I fibreglass up the lip on the drivers side, and make that lip on the passenger side, /
or
simply do a 45deg bend....
hmmm.

Why do you need a canon? Why not just do what I have done (yes I know mine is a bit dodge...
Something like this even...
Off a 350

Or fit an EVO3 tank, which will fit without a huge amount of work and run your pipework through the centre of it

That sounds like a great idea, you'll get a better flow and an awesome sound too

I looked into getting an EVO 3 rear floor pan stitched into the FTO in order to go AWD but we are still debating whether it would be better to put a whole new floor pan in and if it is we will be going EVO 4-6 instead.
It is my own fiscal package to help the car industry here in Scotland
