My Shocks are SHOT! and i am looking at getting coil over's for my FTO.

G4's/D2's... all the same really

Good quality for what they are (damn strong actually)

Make sure you get some (softer than they specify) springs or you will get sick of them real quick

Yeah mate i have them in mine and are brillant but definitly get softer spring rates around the 5 mark is about as stiff as i would go. Well thats actually how stiff i did go and i wouldnt go any stiffer.

How are you planning on getting those supernew coilovers into your car when it has a big shiny clamp on it?

Okay mate, fine.

If you want some serious advice - coilovers are a performance modification. Those wheels you have on it are pretty much a direct contradiction of 'performance modification'.

Sell up the big shiny dishes, put some decent wheels on it, and you'll enjoy those new coilovers a whole lot more.

And then when you're done, you can even make another one of your famous youtube videos about the whole experience

Im running D2 coilovers and they are great, they are 9kgs and are deadly stiff. Not to comfy for normal road use though, mainly for track.

Rock_it has G4 coilovers I think.

That's more use of the word "stiff" than should ever be put in the same sentence!

Yeah, mine are so stiff you can't actually get the power down on anything less than a racetrack.

Definitely opt for the 'softer' end of the coilover spectrum; you car will thank you for it (by not falling apart in a few years time )

I've explained it before, using such stiff springs on the roads is actually dangerous. By the time you hit a bump, the spring will snap the shock back down so fast, you haven't actually travelled past the bump - effectively bouncing yourself off the top of the bump & possibly the road if you are cornering at pace.

As for the product in question, Im told they are a good product - but as mentioned, specify a softer spring rate such as 4kg front & 3kg rear for street use.

ive heard of d2/g4 coilover horror stories that involved the springs snapping and shocks failing when someone tried 'drifting' with them.

If i could get springs with lower rates I would, not sure if i can, does anybody know where i could get d2 replacement softer springs??

Agreed, whilst i dont have coilies my stiff springs can be a bit dangelrous at times. Half the time i find myself skipping across a turn because the car gets off the ground because of little bumps.

I was sliding through some of the corners on the bonfire trip. Although this may be partly the problem with the nangkangs that wrap my new wheels.

------ coilovers will benifit even with his chromes mate. Its not like they weigh 30kgs each. Im sure he's getting coilies for the lowering adjustments and camber aswell

Shoudl have done a search Olly. I have the exact ones you put a link for. Perfect imo. I like the stiffness and I havent had anything wrong go with them. Justjap will replace the whole thing if they are faulty so what do you have to lose. Get them!

im thinking of replacing my front shocks, how does the stock suspension (macpheron struts i think) differ from Coilovers ??

Well to tell you the truth mate , thanks for your smart ass reply ass**** But im not planning the race the car , just for everyday road use.

I find it better for my budget as well , ive been given quotes on shocks and even re-building them are just wayy to much out of my budget.

These coil overs are fantastic at a fantastic price , I will indeed get a softer 3kg or 4kg spriing rate but indeed not planning to race my car at anytime.

My wheels are just fine thanks , if you dont have anything fkn nice to say dont say it at all. I dont wanna here your bullshit on here , keep it to yourself ye thanks mate.
