My front passenger seatbelt doesn't retract anymore. Is it easy to swap over a new one or should a mechanic do it (don't want it to be unroadworthy.

Got plenty of spares. Not sure why youd need to go new. As long as its not frayed, is fine. And none of the ones I have are frayed.

Exact same thing happened to me. I purchased a spare off Dwayne and after a few months it's still going strong.

Not too hard to do yourself, RallyMad and I tackled it fairly quickly. Just have to remove the rear interior panel and have a few spanners handy.

As for getting a new one... Bursons quoted me around $350 for a new belt and AutoZone was around the $420 mark. There is some issue with it being a special order belt, only available from a single company. The belts are not mass produced and you must pay the cost of them making a run of only one copy.

I'm unsure of how correct this is, but from the sources I received this information from, I'm willing to trust it.

IMO, a second hand one is absoulutly fine as long as it is not frayed and pulls out retracts smoothly
