FTO AUSTRALIA

When i bough my car, i took out a 12mnth warranty for $500. But to keep the warranty, you have to use approved mechanics, and keep it serviced at regular intervals.

Now, i was looking on the FTO Mechanics in Adelaide (http://www.ftoaustralia.com/modules.php ... ic&t=12611) and found the two recommended shops. i called up, asked them if they were approved, and found out they weren't.

Which leaves me with a problem. Do i use the mechanics recommended here for FTOs but void the warranty? Or do i use AWN's approved shops and keep the warranty but have a guy who knows nothing about ftos work on my car?

hey mate, i used to have a warranty with them, and i read their terms pretty in depth, i think the are referrin to when u have a problem mechanical gearbox etc, u can only get it FIXED at APPROVED places, im sure u can get it serviced at any decent qualified mechanic as long as u send the invoice and details to them regulary, i had a part in my gearbox go, and they gave me the option of 2 auto trans places to take it 2, unless thier guidelines have changed since??? if u are unsure just give em a bell and clarify it,

So general servicing I pay for and just post them a copy of the invoice so they know I'm maintaining it?

yeah man a warranty doesnt pay for servicing, only when something goes wrong, the whole point is that with regular services at stated intervals will hopefully maintain the car so nothing will go wrong, but such as life some things still will, lol they should off given u a booklet to read thru the details it explains it there, or like i said give them call

Eech bro, I would be careful, I had a declined turbo rebuild on my old Bluebird because I didn't use a sanctioned mechanic for servicing.

I used the best mechanic in town at the time but because it wasn't their specified one, I couldn't make the claim stick.

Like all insurance companies, if they can get out of a payout, they will...

Service it where they tell you, if it fails cos those idiots don't know what they are doing, then you can get your car fixed up and DEMAND that they let you use a reputable repairer, much better chance that way, because at least they will pay then.

yeah like i said, RING THEM OR READ THE POLICY, each situation is different so make sure u confirm with them
