GReddy E-Manage

What are the benefits of this and how does it compare to other chips?
Would there be any gain if this was added to a stock engine?

do you want to turbo the car eventually? if you do the greddy is too simple.
any programable computer / piggyback will do for basic changes, what is it that you want to achieve?

I'm going to get a turbo soon. However, instead of saving up a lump some, i'll rather buy each component one by one. So for now, a GReddy is on my mind... will it give any gain for now?
It will help the turbo later anyways...

if you are looking at buying the parts for turboing your car
I suggest you leave the computer management side of it till last, as with all things to do with computers and electronics, the technology gets old quick, so if you buy a greddy or aftermarket computer now, 6 months from now there will be a better model or system probably at a better price.
concentrate on your intercooler and plumbing and mechanical side of it first

i agree i wouldn't be wasting money on a computer if you are going to turbo the car.
if you really want one i recommend the new microteks' they have a whole new set of mapping rules in place so you can tune a turbo car to different temperatures and other settings (you don't have to tune the car to the hottest day). i don't know a whole lot about the new functions they've added but this one is a great idea.
but if you can wait buy it later you never know what htey'll come up with. and if you do it as part of the whole turbo upgrade it should be cheaper.

if you are looking to get a computer solely for fuelling and ignition control to manage the turbo conversion, you don't need a whiz-bang computer to do the job... I've heard many good things about the Microtech LT8 (which is what I'm opting for anyway) which can piggyback onto the existing factory computer... the beauty about this LT8 is that you still get to keep your factory idle control/air con/aux settings etc while it manages your fuelling and ignition.
