I probably shouldnt admit this, but ive called the NRMA with locked keys in the car before (many years ago now). Its even more embarrasing though. I actually managed to lock 2 sets in the car. One set in the ignition and another set in the boot. And yes, I realised id locked the first set in the car before I managed to lock the second set in the boot.

NRMA are the dodgiest bunch of cowbows around. You know what it stands for? No Real Mechanics Available....

They just break in, they're experts at it.

Lol.. it's not hard, all you do is get a metal wire, turn it into a hook, pull back the rubber seal along your window and slide it in. You'll feel a little rod, just position the hook under it and pull up, Voila ;)

NRMA roadside assistance is pretty good I must say. $60-70 a year. It's not really their fault people call them for stupid reasons, also if they weren't around, people would be stranded for hours or would have to get car towed at a substantial price.

They also provide free 10 kms of towing if you're signed up for it ;)

Those stats didnt really surprise me.

A few years back I was heading home one arvo and thought i hit something after I heard a bang as it was wet and vision wasnt best. I pulled over to have a quick look and I left the key in the ignition and the car running as it was freezing cold and wanted to keep the heater running. While outside checking my bumper, the sound of the central locking activated and I just bolted to the door to open it before it locked...Too Late 8O ...I was standing there in the rain for an hour trying to break in, after not having any luck trying to get in (its a ford so it had relatively harder to break into) I flagged down a falcon station wagon similar model to mine and he was kind enough to let me use his key and Presto...his key opened my door.

Who knows how long I'd be waiting there if i called the Nrma
