Hey guys,
At 5:30pm today heading towards Quakers on the M7 I was rear ended by a 2 tonne truck with a bob cat on it!
My whole boot & drivers side panel has gone! My dash popped off & almost hit me..
I have just been discharged from hospital - no breakages.. just pains!
I am going to see the car tomorrow so I will take photo's & post them up!

oh thats a major reliefe, but still would've been better if the accident never happened
now you will need to leave your car at "whatever workshop" to get repaired *troublesome*
might as well milk your accident and full stay in hospitol and pretend you hurt your spine or some crap lol
anyways all the best

HOLY CRAP, THAT WAS your CAR.
M7 variable speed signs dropped from 100 to 40km by the time I passed your car. It was on back of tow truck. At first I thought skyline hit you, but it looked ok. The truck faired a lot better then your FTO. Looked like it crumpled past your fuel boot lid. Must been hell of a hit !
Hope your ok buddy. Whip lash? Im sure its a right-off though.
How the did the truckie manage to hit you rear-side on? M7 is pretty sweet safe drive compared to m2 during peak

Ouch.. sounds pretty bad. And be very careful - You might be ok now but problems always start coming up later on. Just make sure if you feel the slightest pain anywhere in a few weeks / months, go see a doctor.
By the sounds of it, it could've been a lot worse so at least you're ok.

sorry to hear dude, as everyone has said, at least you are ok.
now by the sounds of it your car might be written off... who's the other guy insured with? if it's written off you might have to have discussions with their insurance company, make sure they are aware of any value adding mod you have on your car
and if you have any problems with insurance, shoot me a PM

i'll do waht i can to help

And as like everyone else has said sorry to hear that and glad your ok, i totally agree with subbie. Injuries can reveal themselves even 6 months after an accident, I know this from personal experience.
Hope it doesnt take too long to get you back on hte road but by the sounds of it, i wouldnt be expecting to get the car repaired sounds like a write off

That was my partners car. I called him as soon as it happened. I wasn't able to see my car until yesterday. I was taken by ambulance within about 10 minutes. I have torn ligaments & muscles throughout my neck & whole back. The guy has been charged with neg driving & the are investigating things as they suspect he was over loaded.
I have placed pictures on Facebook but can't seem to upload them here. If anyone wants pics, send through your email & i will forward them on.
THANKS FOR THE CONCERN EVERYONE! its greatly appreciated!
I should be back in another FTO in a month or two - hopefully!

Agh, hope you get well soon - Though now I'm a bit confused. So your bf and you both have an FTO (since you said "I wasn't able to see my car till yesterday", so the crash happened while u were driving your bf's car?

Sorry for the confusion, the fellow FTO driver said he saw my bf's skyline at the scene (i had called him as soon as it happened) .. I was driving the FTO which is mine.
The total cars at the scene were my FTO, the truck, a fire chief in his red car, the police, 2 fire trucks, tow trucks & the ambulance - i didn't see all of them arrive as I was taken to hospital about 15 mins after the accident. My partner would probably be able to tell everyone more.
As I was taken to hospital I didn't see the extent of the damage until yesterday when I went to collect my things out of the car. I couldn't believe the extent of the damage. My sub box saved the truck going through my back seat & smashing my back window.
I was thinking a lot about why I was hit more on that side than square on but after talking to the guy that hit me he said .. I locked up & lost all control, I tried swerving because I was afraid my truck would of demolished the car..

ouch, my girl tore some ligaments in her leg a month or two ago & couldn't even walk .. you must have been in a lot of pain
I hope you go the truckie's insurance for all that it's worth .. you need to get compensation for personal injuries & go see a physio for recovery, cause ligament damage can stay around for a while.. it might even start affecting you later in life ..
hope you get better soon .. & best of luck with your car..

Further proof that subs are truly the best invention ever made.
It's good that you got out of it all ok, but i would be careful in the near future too.
My brother was in an accident in a Subaru Forester where the drivers side was smashed in by an overloaded van at 80km/h. The entire chassis was bent, with the passenger doors not closing properly, and the intercooler was loose in the engine bay (from a driver side impact).
He was lucky being in a Subaru (5 star safety) with side airbags, but about 2 months later the pain really first started to happen in his right shoulder. It passed after about a month, but the pain really only happened after he smacked it into a door frame by accident.
So basically, just be extra careful for the next few months until your body fully heals itself or you might do something and end up having to put up with unnecessary pain for a while.
And could you email me the photos?
i can upload them here for you if you want?
Anyway, get well soon. Hopefully the truckies insurance will sort everything out.
