I dont know if this has been covered in the forums yet, but is there a mechanic that specialises in Mitsubishi FTO's? Please let me know ASAP if there is any...

recently had a service done there...good job....will go back later to retune safc when i got the $$.

Dont go to Pulse. One young mechanic worked on my car and knows nothing! dont even know how to remove the timing belt cover.
I ended up with badly scarred cover minus a few bolts!

its called an aprentice every one has to start some place

Even a good apprentice with a lousy mechanic/boss who doesn't keep an eye on whats going on will still produce unhappy customers.

so you are saying that after one little misshap you are just going to bag them out ?
Did you go back and have a talk to them about this?

well I can tell you that they are one of the BEST mechanics I have ever been to, and I have been to a lot of them over my time with cars.

Isn't that always the case? No point going back as the damaged is already done. The boss is very a very nice bloke but the apprentice should ask if in doubt.
Actually i stay in the city and i went all the way there becos of the good reviews i read about them from this forum. But my experience wasn't a good one.
Got charged around $110 for over an hour of labour, just to remove the top and bottom timing belt cover, a few mintues of eye power and put them back.
You are lucky becos your ride is always done by the boss himself? as im sure the apprentice know nothing about removing a plastic cover.

no Paul dosnt always work on my car the other workers do it as well and I still find there work 100% so I think its just an unlucky event that you have come across that could of hapened in any work shop.

I wouldn't reccommend Pulse Racing!

We have all had mechanical mishaps with workshops (I created a post on that issue a few months ago), but if a workshop comes highly recommended and you have an issue like you say, get back in contact with them and talk to the manager, I am sure they would have got you a new cam cover and bolts without any drama.

Any mechanic worth their salt, that wants to keep their reputation, will fix any problems like that ASAP. Just bad luck after all, and as has been said, the poor little bugger had probably just graduated from Polytechnic (or whatever you guys have).

I stand by Pulse. Its a far trip for me whenever I need work done but its worth it. And IMO Paul is very nice. Plus I get to drive they zombie liberty.

I should also add to this that how meany ppl check out their motor that closly to check every little scrach and bolt that is there or not there
Its only after work is done that you start to look at things like that, so whats to say that it was not like that befor. as said befor go back an d see Paul and have a talk to him about it.

bluefaze is that your FTO that is down with them at the moment with the gear box problems?

So many people do that - have a problem with some work done & rather than going back & speaking to the shop, they just get online & bad mouth then never go back.

If I got ripped off, my first port of call wouldn't be a forum, it'd be back at the shop.

Be forceful, but not an asshole - build the respect relationship.

tag/flyer? Nothing was in the car when I picked it up. What was it?

it was a club flyer

Ahh, They must have taken it out before I picked up the car, wonder why? Surely it's not a confilct of interest?!?
Maybe they thought they had already done enough advertising by pasteing their own stickers over my car?! Which by the way the one on the rear windscreen was a pain in the a** to get off.
