Hi there. want to ask if all fto use the same panel air filter? Planning to upgrade the panel filter but they have limited information.

Yep, the standard air box is exactly the same for all v6 models at least. Just go into repco and ask for a filter for your FTO, they should be able to look it up. And you can get various quality from the repco branded ones at around $45 up to K&N panel filters for aorund the $100 mark. I had a K&N panel until I went to a pod recently and think they are the best if you are interested in going that far. You never have to replace the filter, just re-oil it every 6 months or so, a very easy job.

The K&N part number is 33-2072 CB

actually im have 2choices

1) Upgrading the panel filter and change the piping to a create a smoother path. But i guess its quite a hassle to customise the piping since the stock airbox is fixed. Personally, $100 for panel filter upgrade is way overpriced. Would try other brands like Simota if i choose this route.

2) Upgrade the whole lot with off the shelf sheielded pod filter, completed with ram pipe. But i cant find the right one-piece intake piping. Otherwise, i'll have to buy them seperate: elbow pipe , straight pipe, 45 degrees pipe and some clamps.

Not sure if i can get away with less than $250

Check out some of the other threads on the custom setups, Your probably going to get a better setup then anything else as UAS have the only kit I know of designed for our cars. It's up to you but including a filter I'd think $200 should easily to a custom setup. Good quality pods seem cheaper than panel filters for some reason.
