Ok my car wont start anymore, basically it was running fine but then i connected the battery the wrong way around (stupid i know) i then tried to start it but it wouldnt start, i noticed what i done wrong and corrected it but the car still wont start it cranks and fuel is getting to the engine but there is no spark. all the dash lights are still woking, radio, windows work etc and no fues were blown apart from the alternator fuse which i changed. Can anyone help. Iv reset the ecu still no help, can someone tell me how to run a error code check

get some starting leads and wire it with another car battery and see how it goes. Batt might be flat and not enough to get the car started up. If tat done work then im sure someone else has another recommendation

the battery was brand new and has a charge, the stater motor is working fine so its not a battey problem

You have probably blown a fuse or 2. Check all the fuses in both the cabin and under the bonnet.

To check for error codes mate.
Are you sure it's not a fuse though? I would have thought this could fry the battery? If it is holding a charge is this outruling this or could it still have dropped a cell?

did you check main ones under bonnet (the big bastards)?
do you have immobiliser? possibly you have fried it too.....

are there any other fuses other than the ones in the engine bay fuse box and the ones in the box under the steering wheel. i had a look around the ecu but there a few little boxes around it that look like relays or something could they be acting like fuses, aslo could be distributor have been damaged buy trying to start the car when the battery was on the wrong way.

no distributor mate. FTO's have coil packs. 1 on top of each of the front bank spark plugs and leads to the rear bank.

I second the immobilizer. Check to see if its still enabled. Something like this happened to me a while back.

are the big fuse wires broken? could be crank angle sensor, do you have immobiliser i havent read that you do?otherwise could be an issue for the auto sparky

so is the power transistor the little black box that is actually sitting on the engine or is it one of the 3 plugs that is sitting on the braket which is fastened to the intake
