i copd this today when coming home from my university exam and they got me for three things.......

1: Lights under the car---i told them they are on a independent switch dont go on with the headlights and are for show purproses only (he told me not to be a smartass wtf)?

2: Battery Clamp not tight enough?( i go to him you cant be serious you cant even move the battery).

3: AND THE MOST BULLSHIT OF ALL---it was a two lane road and a car in front of me was turning righti indicated to my left and to pass inbetween the car turning right and the parked car on the left, to be safe i pushed the button to fold in my mirrors and then when i passed through i pushed it agian and they unfolded to the same postion. He siad i hsouldnt of folded them in WTF!

The police officer cannot be seirous---he couldnt of at least got me on something that was legitimate-oh wait there was nothing.

Me two skylines and a supra got pulled over coming out of the Melbourse sports and aquatic centre carpark near albert park, they were all my friends and we had all jsut finished a 3 hr exam and this happened what bullshit.

?

thats all i have to say

underbodys are legal for show, and as use as...what was it..."step assist lights" for if you are driving under 20 k's an hours

if the battery clamp isn't tight enough, the car shouldn't be on the road, thats like a basic rego thing lol.maybe you should have tightened it more so fluid leaked out of the battery, and then charge the cop to replace the battery for a misleading statement costing you.

mirrors, i can sort of understand. you have to have side mirrors adjusted properly when driving. its a bit weak, but thats the only one i can understand

Take them to court, then sue them for lost time that could be used during exams.
ALL those fines are complete and utter bullshit. period.
NONE of them are legit.

neons are 100% legal if they're not on over 25km/h (ie, 'step assist')

battery clamp? ha, like that'll stick. retarded pigs.

mirrors? explain the exact situation to the court/local station. this will not stick.

did your mates get done too?

yeh im going to go to the local police station, the battery clamp was tight you coudlnt untighten it by hand it was just bullshit.

One skyline got done for having a top mount turbo.
Supra Got done for having more than two sizes over the stock supra wheel and and also for his air intake not having an oil catch can.

Other Skyline got done for exhaust being too loud and also being too low.

Did you get the officers name and that?
cause pretty much everything you and your mates got done for can be fought against.

2 sizes above standard wheel? ha f**king ha. 3 sizes bigger is LEGAL, 4 sizes bigger is safe as long as it's load rated, unless you get a sh*tty piece of bacon.

Top mount turbo? fully legal. f**king stupid bacon.

Exhaust too loud? like that'll stop your mate driving.

too low? theres no such f**king thing. i HATE stupid bacon that dont know sh*t.

go to your local station with you and your mates and complain. post the results here.
will be interesting to see if they want to stick with the fines or agree that this officer that booked you is a f**king wang.

i'm actually to dri=unk at the moment to read through everyone else's reply. so i'm sry if i'm doubling up on things

basically he definately can't go you for the lights.

the battery clamp, he shouldn't be able to, but good luck proving it.

the mirrors, he can do you for. technically you need to have at least 2 rear view mirrors at all times, (i.e. with some old cars they only have passenger side mirror and rear view), so if you folded them then you dont have them ;)
unfortunate.

take the fine to your local police station. speak to them, explain it, if you are lucky enough to speak to a reasonable senior officer then you can probably get off all of it. but my suggestion is not to ask to speak to an senior officer (because if you ask, they will automatically have their defenses up)

there is nothing they can get you on about the lights if they were definately on a seperate switch. but the rest is circumstantial :)

good luck mate

oh man...that sucks!
be careful trying to fight it dude,
could end up causing yourself more problems.

here's some good news for ya,
there's a cool aftermarket pre-painted silver
rear spoiler in the Parts For Sale section...
i reckon it'd definitely suit your car -

How can you get a defect for closing your side mirrors ? Isnt a defect something that is faulty or illegal on your car, therefore a defect notice is to change it ?....How the f**k can they give you a defect notice for side mirrors...should have slapped that cop and told him to wake up.

Yeah, would've been better if you kicked him in the nuts and steal his gun.
Then point the gun at the police and say "should've went to get donuts instead buddy"

Anyway, dude im sorry to hear about what happened, if you do fight it grab your mates too. All the best with what you decide to do :D

haha, one minute you're defected for stupid little things, next thing we know you're buying a massive rear wing, and turboing it?

police = fail at making people want to stop modding.
infact, EPIC fail.

hey sorry to hijack the space but i just defected like an hour ago for my exhaust being to low, because i accidently knocked the rubber clamp thing holding it to the body.

(noob question) it says on the defect notice: not being stock and it was too low. and the police said it had to be at least 10cm off the ground... i can easily just smack the rubbar back into place but do i need to get a certificate for something that small? and has anyone got def. for it? how do you get it re-inspected?

Not being stock....these cops really have lost it.. Ohh, and i think you just gotta have it signed off by a mechanic or something then take to station for them to check that you have fixed the problem (which they rarely do cos they are so lazy)

I don't know about you guys but I have downloaded the vicroads 'modification guide for motor vehicles', 'roadworthiness requirements' and the 'summary of the Australian design rules', read them and printed a copy so that i can shove it to the police's face if they mess around with my ride. (sitting in my glovebox, they can't argue against hard documents with their lack of a brain cell)

Sorry to say Amacha, but under the 'Roadworthiness requirements' yes, they can bust you for the battery clamp even if the police is a dick as it is legit.

And jay6 I suggest downloading your state versions of the above files so that you can fight these pigs. I swear they must have lost it or something. In Vic, not being stock is still legal as long as they follow the guidelines.... don't know about your state though.

But i have only been ever pulled over for the mazda 929 i drive to work as it got messed up by a truck on the right hand side. Lol, now its a police magnet.

And here you are talking about the "bacon" not knowing sh*t..

Legal is one over. So legally for FTO's you can have 17" rims, 18 is illegal.

"Exhaust too loud? like that'll stop your mate driving" - What kind of statement is this?

No such thing as too low? Wrong again.

Anyway, the cop sounded like he really didn't know sh*t and just had it in real bad for sports cars / P platers.
