Hi All,

I am looking for a good FTo mechanic in the west (or north) Melbourne regiona s my poor baby needs some serious work. for a little while now I have had those nasty oil leaks I hear so much about frm the cam seals and just recently I have been leaking coolant as well It looks to me like the water pump is leaking and I need to refill it every second day.
I must bite the bullet and get this beast back to top shape and would love to know if anyone can recomend a good mechanic. I have seen all the posts for the mechanics on the eastern side of melbourne and am hoping there is a good one in the west.

Also if anyone has had similar problems with leaking coolant please let me know. The water looks to be comming from up and behind the belts on the left side of the engine and I do believe that is where the water pump is.

but yes waterpump sounds shot and make sure when you get replaced also get cambelt, tensioners, cam seals (most likely where leaks are), rocker cover gaskets, and while your there also do powersteer/air con and alternator belts and check pully's they have been known to have bearing issues

Anyone know how much all this should cost so I dpn't get ripped off?
Sounds like allot of manual hours and I may have to take it to a local mechanic who most likely will be scared of this beast.

should be around $1100 ish in total depending on what they charge over there for labour the parts from memory are around 4 to $500 roughly

Any decent mech should be able to do this it is not difficult job just time consuming and they should not be scared of it
