i need both lower engine mounts and also 2 rose joint bushes, any help would be welcome.
when replacing the lower mounts, does the whole cross brace come out? looks to me like its the only way to access the mounts.

thanks guys,

colin.

front- em-4551. listed as lancer-CG 2.0 4G94 6th/02 onward and mirage CE 1.5lt 4G15 '96-'00

rear- em-3687 listed as lancer CC 1.5lt, 1.8lt '92 - '96 and lancer CE 1.8lt wagon '96-'00

changed the mounts today.
the front mount has a larger sleeve than the rear through it, but only a small bolt. is this right?? the old one was the same, so im guessing it is right.
i sleeved the mount down with 2 sections of copper water pipe so it wont rattle. now it is a nice fit on the bolt.

Its meant to be a larger hole. Its a factor of safety built into the front mount. The rear one acts like a pivot & the front is only held in place by the clamping pressure of the bracket / bolt & the crush tube in the mount. Its in case the engine gets a big jolt, the front mount doesnt tear, it just moves within the bracket. Its the same on every single FTO.

so, is it a problem that i sleeved it down?? now that ive done it once, its easy to pull it apart again.
what kind of "big jolt" do you mean?
