Hey just some advice if anyone can offer..
my car has been driving fine lately. just did the oil change.. mechanics changed it.. but seem to overfilled it past the limit. by a bit. will this affect my engine temperature anyway!

just today was driving my car and the temp gauge was going right up to max.. i cheked out to see if i had water in there. it was all fine..
could my water pump be broken ?? i had felt the radiator and itseemed quite cool. even the hose !

could something else be affecting it .... should i do a coolant flush maybe !

Do a flush first sounds like a blockage if waterpump seized so would of your motor as cambelt runs it

then check thermostat/ radiator cap the obvious things but seeing as not leeking water certainly would put my money on blockage :D

Ive had the tube to my overflow bottle block up before. This causes a vacuum in the top radiator pipe and reduces the water flow enough to send the temp up.

, Check to see if the water is "flowing" or not then you will know if its the pump. Did they do anything with your cooling system while getting a service?Could be thermostat to check that you need to remove it and put it in hot water. No too much oil shouldnt make the car overheat, however, if its too high i suggest removing some, its very east to do.

Nah, disposable item. Bout 12 bucks from your local auto shop. You'll need to pull it out to test it thou. As mentioned above, done by dropping it in boiling water - if it opens, its ok, if it doesn't its shot.

but if you are going to pull it out you may as well just put in a new one in any way
also you will need a gasket and some gasket past.
