Shell to phase out Shell V-Power Racing
Hi
I thought you’d be interested to know that from the end of July ‘08, Shell will start to phase out its Shell V-Power Racing fuel in Australia.
The Shell V-Power Racing phase out from Coles Express sites in QLD, VIC, NSW & ACT will take around 6 months and will be finished at the end of the year.
Be assured that Shell V-Power, a 98 octane fuel, which has been developed with Ferrari, will be Shell’s performance fuel and continues to be available at Coles Express sites in QLD, VIC, SA, NSW & ACT.
Changing needs of motorists and their vehicles has played a big part in Shell’s decision. Shell is currently increasing the availability of Shell Unleaded E10 at Shell branded sites to make it easier for motorists to access the ethanol blended fuel.
If anyone wants to find out more info on the phase out of Shell V-Power Racing you can visit www.shell.com.au or call 13 16 18 for tech or general enquiries.
Otherwise, shout out as I’m a Shell representative so I’m well placed to answer any queries.
Cheers Adam

bp ultimate won't be phased out anytime soon as it is a 98 octane.
They would be losing customers everywhere if they did that.

the two fuels are 100% the same as they both come out of the same refinery (in sydney any way) Shellnicholas wrote:lwrida is correct; V Power and BP Ultimate are essentially the same fuel with slightly different additives. These two fuels will continue to be sold.
V Power *Racing* is 100 octane and contains a 5% ethanol blend; this is the one that they're phasing out.

as for the E10 the ron val is only at aprox 92-94 ron so its the same as running the standard unleded

at least the guy admits he's a paid shell employee
but if i was a current V Power Racing user (100 oct) once it's discontinued
i'd change across to BP Ultimate (98 oct) rather than V Power (98 oct)
Shell have obviously decided to save costs by discontinuing
it's least popular product, and have identified jap import owners
as the number 1 users of V Power Racing, so they're posting
in forums to try and keep your $$$
screw that, Shell will be saving millions by no longer producing & distributing V Power Racing
yet the most they'll offer the customers is one random forum post???
not good enough Shell...
you'll be saving MILLIONS & are passing on to us NOTHING,
make us an offer & we'll CONSIDER using V Power (98 oct) instead of BP Ultimate (98 oct)

Re: Shell to phase out Shell V-Power Racing
I got sick of Shell ... Everytime I wanted Vpower, I would drive to like 3 servo stations, and they never had any ... Regardless if it was a Tuesday or a weekend ... Mobil/BP never seemed to be out of 98 octane, so I save hasstles and only use them ...ajhh wrote:Hi

yes i am agreeing on all this, but the one time i used it in my focus, the fuel economy was great and did 0 to 100 about 2 seconds quicker than it usually did. still, what is it at now? like the same as diesel? 192.9?
nothing wrong with e10 lol. the next bloke to get the car your driving will have to replace a few engine parts. but it is 3 cents cheaper

naturally being a Ferrari stock holder i bought into all the sponsorship hype and i intend to fill my own supply of V-Power for when it is "phased" out.
i use the supposed best fuel available, though i dont really believe cars have tastebuds.
when it runs out ill prob just switch back to avgas
