Try searching the forums for "stpper motor", you might not need a new one it might just a clean.

Yup, stepper motor. Just got my replacement from Nardek. 2 bolts, unhook the battery for half an hour for the ecu to reset, and good as new.

How much did it cost?

$195 for brand new from Nardek, and was happy with that. Part Number 510-16. They knew what an FTO was and what engine it had, which is always reasuring. If in doubt, give them the serial number off your old one and they'll double check which one you need.
My local Mitsi place wanted $700 for a new one.
I got my last one as a recon from Kempy's, and only lasted 2 1/2 years before going belly up again.
There used to be a few on ebay for cheap, but there was confusion on whether these were correct or not.
