Bumping up compression would be a decent mod. Good gains all round and not too expensive if you do some of the labour.
As for extractors ?? You'll lose low down torque. I haven't seen any company that supplies low down focused extractors for the fto.. means all the ones on the market are focused on mid to high revs. The more backpressure you reduce in your exhaust, the worse your low down torque will be generally.
I'd say box the pod up, make sure you don't restrict the pod though whilst giving it one massive air feed (i mean really big). This will help for city driving and will provide gains throughout the rpm range. Then head for a piggyback ecu - another mod that will increase power throughout the rpm range instead of a portion of it. Get something like the emanage blue and with your mods, i'd estimate around 7kw atw gain.
Not much you can do for low down unfortunately... Jonowong's suggestion ain't a bad idea though if you're game. Massive increases there haha but it'll cost a lot as you'll need to include supporting mods such as LSD, tires, brakes, suspesion and possibly drivetrain components.
With the fto, you're much better off focusing on mid to high power. Not much can be done with low end unfortunately, unless you wanna be a first mover/amongst the first movers (turbo, turbo engine conversion, supercharger, nos etc).

hmmm turbo NOS and supercharger are out of the picture now and for the enxt two years till i get off my P's.
Yeh ill do a feed cold air feed and box it all up and then see how i go.
Would runnign a emanage blue consume more petrol or actually give me more km's? whats the difference between ultimate and blue?id rather get a emanage instead of extractors if extractors iwll make me loose torque down low.
You guys talked about bumping up teh compression ratio of the engine....Isnt the mivec engine already at a high compression ratio? how can bumping it up be achieved?

cant believe you brought that into the equation when you're after more power!AMACHA wrote: Would runnign a emanage blue consume more petrol
more fuel+more air=more power to put it simply, and power vs economy wise, it doesnt get much better than FTO, teggies, sportivo's and elises/ exiges (not that most of us can afford them).
the way things are going, you should use your money on other better things rather than making your car a better competitor towards others. if you dont take it to the track then there's really no point anymore, besides bragging rights i guess.

nathan you know too much
but you are completely right with your mantra. sportscars first priority performance, stuff the fuel consumption.
One of the main "rules" to car modifications comes down to improving what your car is already good at. Focus on what makes and fto what it is and go from there.

remove the heads from the engine, take them to a machine shop, get them decked/ shaved, whatever they call it these days.AMACHA wrote: You guys talked about bumping up teh compression ratio of the engine....Isnt the mivec engine already at a high compression ratio? how can bumping it up be achieved?
they'll probably need the standard comp ratio to work out whats safe, but no manufacturer is going to make an engine with borderline stats like that. there's always room for more!

i drive a 4WD now, i dont know sh*t! you're right though, about concentrating at what fto's are naturally good at. thats why i bought mine, not for outright speed, but for.....bushido wrote:nathan you know too muchbut you are completely right with your mantra. sportscars first priority performance, stuff the fuel consumption.
