well after using the wrong plastic plugs to secure my drivers floor mat in the hole in the carpet the little plastic surround in the carpet has come out.

I figure if it's come out once and only seem to be held in with some form of glue it's just going to come out again....opinions? Or what glue would it be and should I just put it back in?

If you agree that it will probably continue to come out what would you recommend, I'm thinking of putting something under the carpet bigger than the hole with a small bolt coming up through it and another washer or something on top bolted together lightly with a bolt. Just concerned this might scratch the crap out of the floor, opinions please?

I've been driving it for a while without anything in it and it only annoys me a little, but is really annoying when the mat works its way up under the pedals, thus why I want to fix this.

Perhaps strips of Velcro maybe?

Yeah, that might work thanks mate but I don't really want to have to try and secure the strips to the bottom of the floor mat or the carpet, would like to be able to remove the mat later if I want to.

maybe a brass or stainless eyelet. try a boat shop.
or, maybe drill a hole right through the floor and use a plastic "scrivet" make sure you rust proof the hole 1st.

Thanks dstocks, I could remember that but not where I saw it, thanks again.

Ended up going to super cheap and getting a trim clip it's curved with a big post in the middle of it, held on the other end with a little black nut, I grabbed it and a grommet that I drilled a whole in the middle of.

All is holding well after 3 weeks and all plastic so no scratching. Forgot to take photos though

Been sick for a couple of months and not on the forums so missed your post sorry.

This is the only fto I've had, had it for 4 years.

The floor mats I was having the issues with I got from you a few years back, thanks again by the way.
