WOnt start

Car wont start, battery is fine, starter is fine, but when turn the key starter is not getting proper voltage or something. I was able to jump start the car by, by passing the igintion wire on the starter. This leads me to believe its either the ignition switch itself, the alarm immobiliser, or the auto is not registering that it is in park or nuetral (i highly doubt its that though). Car was fine this morning drove it to brissy stop and starting. Then drove it back home now it wont start. Any ideas to locate the problem

Get your multimetre out. Start at the end of the circuit & work your way back. First thing I'd measure is current across the starter when the key is turned, that'll tell you if the ignition barrel is f*cked or alarm is stopping all current. Work your way back to the battery & test current across it.

+1^^^
Also could just be relay for starter (think it in fuse box under bonnet)

its clicks once when you first turn the key but then nothing. I just checked ECU codes and im getting crank angle sensor error code would that have anything to do with it

Crank angle sensor will certainly stop it from starting...

ok well i reset the ecu and still wont start, so does that mean its F&*ked and i need a new one? Cause i have noticed that the last tank of gas went really quickly and that would be the ecu running it rich?????

If thats the case where do i get a new one them from?

Nah, that would be cause you've got a f**king great 'air dam' wedged in your front bar

Seriously thou, a failing crank angle sensor has nothing to do with poor fuel economy. As it fails, it doesnt effect timing, it just starts to not work.

Its a Mitsubishi specific item. Im outta town right now with no access to CAPS, so you might wanna check with dstocks as to if its a FTO specific part (therefore buy direct from Japan) or its common to other Mitsubishis (where local buy price wont be too bad.)

You might also wanna check the wiring to sensor as well, you may have just ripped it off. If so, may be a case of just soldering it back up if its not too bad. Also checks your belts are ok & that one of them hasnt dropped a rib & thats whats ripped the wire off the sensor.

yeah check all the wiring and belts etc all look sweet. So this CAS looks like it can be removed without removing the timing belt covers anyone know

Yep. Gotta pull the harmonic balance pulley off as well :|

So my car can still run without a CAS but cant start? Cause I can start the car with a wire on the starter motor.

Thats different then  The car wont go at all if the CAS is gone...

I'd go back to vipfto's idea then of the starter solenoid then.

i wonder if the emanga has anyhting to do with it going? Or do you think even the emanage would rely on the CAS

I think your car is training you for when you get the turbo installed.. ;) cause you need to get used to it not running

^^^BAHAHAHAHA Have you got going yet simon? like bennoz said wont go with no CAS did you try to trace back circut? Maybe check ECU codes again?

Ok this morning i disconnected the CAS and then tried to start the car and wouldnt start, so spot on boys. So yah i dont have to buy a cas but car still isnt starting. I check all fuses and they are fine
