Just bought an FTO in sydney last wednesday at a really good price... (at the time) but now realise it was a dud for sure :(
Engine blew up 2 nite think it might have done a big end... engine won't even start anymore, she's broke as
Won't know how bad the damage is until we take it into the workshop and open the bonnet! Either way i send $4000 in repairs coming up.
Saving up for some forgies asap.
Depending on the damage anyone got any ideas about what i can do and strengthen inside the block might as well given its already going to be open and smashed in the hole 8O
update will follow
ARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGHH!!!lol cut as

Now thats some bad luck man did it have oil and water????

just get a second hand engine $600-$700, install it your self if you can its not that hard or just pay someone to do it. Even ask a mechanic to do it in the weekend as a foreigner, we used to do it all the time. cost you half as much.

Good luck

yeah its did, had full oil, that's what i first thought, that there was no oil but the worst part is when i checked it there was water in with the block :( which means that the water cooling around it has gotten in, aka a break!!
Good idea i think i'll just get a 2nd hand fto engine n go from there.

Would it be any stronger with a set of forged pistons? I don't want it to happen again..

upon further assessment and minor embaressment turns out it was a frayed belt that ripped off a sensor + wiring which explains engine cut out!
much smaller repair bill for sure but a little frustrating.

bahahaha, thats great news. One thing though i would be asking myself why did it break off........ probably old, so while its off the road id be looking at all other belts especially the timing belt (depending on how many kms). I always give my car a service as soon as i buy it as i dont know how long ago the last one was.

water in with the block which means that the water cooling around it has gotten in, aka a break
Im concerned.... what do you mean by this???? Not in with your oil i hope?

Thats what i originally though had happened but upon checking it this morning in daylight it was just the belt and wiring the block should b fine :D
