20% which in NZ means 80%. But i have 5% on mine (darkest you can go). The boys in blue never say anything about it though in QLD. Its not something they enforce here and i should know ive been pulled over quite a few times

35% is the legal tint for Australia unless you have a work van or limo and then you can have 5%

when i tinted my car, sol-ace recommended me their "midnite express", its a 38% tint (they make use of the 10% tolerance on top of the 35%), which is the absolute darkest legal tint..
hope this helps..

Amacha - I hate neons, but each to their own. Install looks good
If someone has figured out how to get the mood lighting happening like in the new Lexus - it's just a soft light in the footwell that slowly fades out about 2 seconds after the door closes - then maybe i'd be interested.
Lol Simon what'd you do that ended up with the cops driving your car at night?

Actually, 35% is the legal limit for your windows BUT your rear glass (whatever you wanna call it) can be 20%, I never actually knew this, but when the guy came to my place to tint my windows, I told him to do the legal limit. He told me I can get 35% on the sides and 20% on the back and that would be legal. I told him I'd never heard of this and he assured me it was completely legal and a lot of people do it this way and it looks better. Didn't charge me any extra for it, showed me a lot of pictures of it too.

Yeah sublime apparently you can do that in NSW but in QLD they all have to be 35%, well thats what i read today on the net somewhere so you can take that with a grain of salt.
@ nicholas, lol yeah lets not talk about that
