Timing Belt Kit

Post by tompocz »

Gday Guys,

Im seriously thinking about doing a timing belt change and full service on the wife's car and was wondering whether the following Timing Belt Kit is suitable, or whether its a "cheapie". I have recieved confirmation from the seller that it does suit a GPX, as I also gave them my VIN No.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 0164500432

Image

It includes the following

Timing belt
Timing belt kit tensioner
Timing belt kit idler
Timing belt kit seal

The above is just one of the options Im looking into so as to get a feel for price, quality and also what parts are required.

Ive tried to surf the net for Gator timing belts and cant seem to find any to buy.

Look forward to any replies

Cheers
Tom

That one says its for a GR.
, GR, EngCode: 6A12,
Are all these bits the same for a GPX? - I cant remember. Has anyone else given these a shot? Price is good though.

BTW Gates is the belt you should be looking for (not Gator)

Gday Dwayne - I was going to come to you as well mate - dont worry. Im just being anal in my methodology - Im doing a spreadsheet so as to look at numerous parts that Im after, reviewing prices, and looking at the best way to go.

I will review the "gates" belts as well.

I did query whether it was also for a GPX and they said yes it was, but Im not so sure with the dayco ones.

PS - I intend on installing that snsor you sent me this weekend into the wife's car - many thanks
