hello everyone. My FTO GR has transmission problem. I have found a second hand transmission to replace it. However, it is a GPX transmission. Will it be able to fit in my GR car?

Thanks~

Yeah they're the same gearbox whether it be manual or auto. Main difference between a gr and gpx is the mivec head and the bigger brakes on the gpx.

My car is a 4spd auto box. I just wondering whether a 4 spd auto box from GPX will be able to fit in my GR car.
PS: same year transmission~

Yeah it will be sweet, and from what i have heard putting a 5spd in is just a straight swap as well, but if you did do that then you would also neeed to chang the cluster

Yeah definitly that, when you buy a box (second hand) do they throw them in or do you have to pay extra for that

That'd be extra I'd reckon. Might have to check CAPS for wiring loom differences too

hahahah, good call lol, yeah get a 5spd box especially the ones that f**k Up like mine, lol, interesting the mechanical engineer currently fixin my trans, said that from 96 onwards (facelift models) (5sp Tip) that the automatic was prone to certain issues, i think he more or less said they can be a little weak under stress, The fto box is apparently very similiar to a magna, slightly smaller. and my has gone in someway at 80000kms, so i would reccomend being careful, and im seriousyl considering a manual conversion, as i prefer manual. But when it comes to lazyiness nothin beats the TIp lol

Its all about how they are looked after if you drive the car like a race car and never service it everything will f&*K up on it.
