reverse light switch not connected

My reverse light is not working. I used to to think it's a faulty reverse light switch. But then when i tried to find it out, i realized that the switch is not connected to anything. And i couldnt find the cable/bracket that connects to it either. Has anyone faced this problem before?

Or should i hook a cable out from one of the cable in the engine bay? Im confused

Did you check the front of the car, my reverse light went out once because it was the problem with a sensor at the front. If im not wrong there should be wires together with the rear lights.

Yeah there's a 2 wire switch bolted into the front of the g/box that is switched when you go into reverse. I'll try & dig up a pic of what it looks like.

Check to see whether its connected. Failing that, MD730979 is the part number. About $45 from Mitsubishi - common to lancers & anything else with the F5M42 g/box, so you wont pay huge grey import part prices.

i do have the reverse light switch sticking out from the gear box... but it's not connected to any wires... where could the wires be? where should i find them from?
