AERIALS

Prob a dumb noob question
My fto is the only one ive seen that has no external aerial
I know thats its one of those thats on the rear windscreen but like I said its only one ive come across on FTO, I have no evidence of there ever being an external one before
Does anyone else have this?
Its not a problem infact I think its great i'm just curious

i have no external aerial either.
it was an optional extra when the car was produced, the external one picks up a bit better signal but IMO no aerial looks better.

Just in case youre thinking of finding an aerial and putting it in, I have done this in the past and its not as simple as you might think. I got a template and drilled the hole and got the aerial to fit and that was fine. problem is, even if you have the switch, you will not have the wiring to support it and while you can switch over the loom that runs down the side of the car into the boot, you cant easily switch the one under the dash. I ended up splicing 2 wires into the loom under the dash to get it to work and was only able to work out what to do because I had a wreck with the aerial in it to work off.

Hmm I have one too, is this GR specific? I've never put it up cos the VS wing is in the way too lol

Slither has a VileSlag wing and an external aerial. The wing has a hole in it but it whistles

No aerial myself and if my car had of came with one i would of got it shaved anyway. I love the sleek look

I got one too ... Will prolly shave it when I do the re-spray ... That is if the re-spray ever happens ... Thanks intrest rate rises .... Grrrrrrrr

I was under the impression mine was integrated into my rear window dimister thingo, cos when I turn it on when i have the radio on, it sometimes creates static in my radio reception
Someone correct me if I'm wrong

If you dont have an external aerial then yes it is intergratedinto your rear window

Have to agree much better without aerial shaved look is hot ( and not just on cars
