Oil leak... from where?

Well, I was installing my new stereo on the weekend, which involved poking around in the engine bay to check fuses (stupid me forgot to connect ground, lol).

Anyway, I noticed some solid oil/fluid spatter on the side of the motor. It seemed to be coming from the engine mounts... which would be weird, I didn't think they had any fluid in them?

It's just behind the power steering reservoir, but I don't think it's the power steering. Have a look at the photos and see what you guys think.

good work mate :D much better.

Yeah as i said it looks like cv grease. Are any of your cv boots split? And if not has it just happened or could of been there for a while? If your cv boots arent split give it a good clean then keep an eye on it. If it comes back then you know it aint the cv's and maybe have a better chance of finding where its coming from

Haha yeah I realised after i'd put them up they were freakin huge. But I'm at work so I haven't had a chance to fix em, so thanks Supplanter.

Yeah, I'll clean it up tonight and then keep an eye on it... you're right in that it doesn't look exactly like oil.

If it is the CV, that probably means it's shat itself in an ultra spectacular way I would imagine 8O
