Gave the engine bay a quick tidy up and clean

Just finished cleaning up my engine bay a little bit...

Always been a little ashamed of it... Really messy, etc...

So i bought some tubing, zip ties and engine cleaner...

Starting...

Then got rid of all of the old tubing and tape and crap...

NOt huge difference but for only a couple hours work on a sunday... and a few bucks...

Next will be chroming...

found the back panel this arvo.... Will fit it tonight...

Front one is still at my tuners... it goes in wednesday...

is it dangerous to have timing belt covers off? You need to dyour engine bay miore mate

Not dangerous ... Just, umm, well, a little silly ...

Even though it is not dangerous, it is quite easy for something to be sucked up into the engine bay (stick, rock, etc.) that could really cause you some trouble... You have to be pretty unlucky for that to happen....

I had the Evo engine in my sonata for a few weeks without one (cause the plastic had snapped) ... Ordered the replacement and drove the car daily, and nothing ever happened ...

Depends on what you call dangerous, lets just say that they are to stop naughties getting in and fugking you timing (eg fugked engine). Sure you could probably drive a car your whole life without anything happening but its like insurance really. Why take the risk?

as everyone said... timing covers are there for a reason... i have driven this twice since they came off... one is back on... other one is not here... so at least i have an excuse... lol

and i think you're trying to say "You need to do your engine bay more mate"...

Yes... it is all coming together... a lot of chroming needing to be done yet. Just wanted it to be clean...
