Hey guys I just bought an Mivec FTO about 6 months ago....

Even though I had my macanic check it out I have had a few probies with it...

Even though this puppy has a Mivec engin in it...It was originally a GR...
Did a lot of research about it....and found out it was in a minor accident...
and the macanic some how linked the mivec engin to the gr bits and pieces...
so basically its got the GR trip computer, the GR wiring loom and other bits and pieces...It runs ok....but could be a lot faster....It revs high but doesnt go any where...

Hoping in the future that some people might be able to point me in the right direction on how to get this puppy up to scratch.....
Oh I found a great importer for parts in brissy for any FTO part you could want and at a really reasonable price [wreckers that import reguarly]

Will be able to post it up soon when I get the info near my computer...

If anyone knows anyone on the gold coast that knows the FTO's inside out can put please point me in the right direction....

thanks and Happy easter to all
love the new

WTTC, good luck with your car.
For a mechanic on the Goldie most of us SE QLD members swear by Joe & Riks in Southport. Give Rik a call on 5532 0706
Good luck

Hey WTTC :)

There's a sticky in the QLD section for FTO mechanics & other decent workshops :) The best one as Rallymad said is Joe & Ricks
http://www.ftoaustralia.com/modules.php ... ic&t=10999

Definitely come along to the Cruise on the 30th ;)

To get the full potential of the Mivec engine working for you, you're going to need a few things;

The GPX alternator - I8AFRE said he has one for sale at the moment
The GPX ECU - You should be able to pick one up from "The Panel House" at Slacks Creek - they have a lot of parts for FTO's between $100-$150

There might be other things you'll need, can't remember off the top of my head, but if you talk to J&R's they'll be able to help you out

Thanks for the help

Thanks for the ideas I will be along to the crooze..lol
I have tryed to get the ecu and the wiring loom to go to the engin for the ecu....problem was there was to much difference in the other parts of the engin for the GR to the Gpx, there was an extra plug or something....I dont know the macanic i brought it too spent a day on it and didnt get it to work....

Any ways I have rang Ricks for some prices once before and I found they have over priced me by a substancial amt just for parts. It may be different if i went there to have work done, I dont know....
I might just have to bring it down for a quote and see what happens regardless...

Oh well see you guys in the future...I got sume pics to put up any ways...

So who am I looking out for to make new car friends??

Thanks so much u guys are definitly on the right track....its taken me a little bit to figure out whats going on with the car....thankgod for the net and pics lol

ciao for now
