Do a search for 'limp and mode' on this site. There's a good chance it wont need reconditioning....

yeah it needs reconditioning cause the whole things stuffed....it just sits there and doesn't move and revs out like its in neutral i've had it checked n everything... it'll jump to limp mode so i can drive it if say i park it on a hill and let it roll down once it gets to bout 20 k's it jumps to limp, but when the car is cold it drives fine for bout 10 mins before it revs out n jumps to limp :S

:(

That doesnt mean its stuffed! If one of the input or output speed sensors ($100 part) is shot, it will tell the box to do that. Limp mode is a safety feature of the box that stops any further damamge done to it, no matter how small the issue.
Having said that, the last time I read of a box working when cold, but not when warm was due to a auto trans fluid pump packing up - thats box out.
