Is the stepper motor also known as a throttle body sensor. I am going to look into a new part price for these and need the part number. I think it is MD6147635 or MD614736, but am not 100% sure.
Any help would be appreciated.

In answer to your question.... NO, the stepper motor is an idle speed control valve ,where as TPS (throttle postion sensor) tells the ECU how far the throttle is open so it then can supply correct fuel etc.
A faulty stepper motor would cause idle speed fluctuations and possibly engine cutting out when cold.
Hope this helps

OK was clicking on the wrong PNC in Caps. Is this better:
MD614568 Servo Kit, throttle body
MD628054 Servo Kit, throttle body
MD628056 Servo Kit, throttle body

Im not sure what you are wanting to know now. the first two part numbers are pointing me to EVO stepper motors the last one is pointing to galant legnum, but it also shows me a v6 one underneath but it wont give me the part number

THese 3 come up in CAPS for different models of FTO. Just want to make sure they are stepper motor. Ill get a price on all 3 numbers if they actually are stepper motors (I think I have it right this time)

Edit: Nope, its a DE3A part number. Would be DE2A if it was GS...

just a quick question, my car is idling on roughly 300 - 500 rpm, is a faulty stepper motor the cause of this? Thanks

Does it bounce around that rpm or is it constant?

I'm surprised its idling at all at those sort of revs!

i think about 750-850 is the correct rpm for these engines but dont qoute me. I have never heard a engine idle at 300 without stalling

when i first start off the engine, it revs up to like 1.5 rpm and drops to 1 rpm. Once i put it into D then it will drop to 500 and bounces between 300 and 500. Sometimes when im driving and stop at the lights, it drops close to 100 or 200 but comes back up to 500. Never had the engine turned off due to low rpm though which is kinda weird. Sounds like it wants to but it just comes back up again.

Im totally shocked to hear that it is still idling at 300 -500 but anyway,
definitly agree with Dstocks totally sounds like stepper motor.

Hi, I just created a page asking about the stepper motor as well.
Where were you guys checking out the part numbers for these parts?
