i have searched but i couldn't find the information that i wanted. so i started a fresh topic

i went out today to look at some stuff for an intake setup but when i opened the bonnet i realised the the TB opening is quite small in diametre.

is there anything i can get from autobarn that will fit directly onto the TB. i have been looking at everyone's engine bay pictures and the pipes that everyone else has made up seem to look a lot bigger in diametre than the TB. is that just my eyes decieving me or is that diametre large enough for an intake pipe.

i hear people talking about 63mm TB's, is this refering to the surface area?

The factory 60mm TB measurement is taken from the backside of the TB itself - its the actual brass butterfly diametre. The outside edge diametre of the TB housing is about 68mm if I recall correctly. I bought 75mm ID Autotechncia pipe from Auto One, its a bit to big, but when clamped up with a hose clamp, it seals fine.

Pretty sure the bumper has to come off.... its held on by 3 bolts that aint real easy to get at even with the bumper off. Bumper is only 4 bolts & 2 plugs to remove thou.

Its not hard on a standard bumper, 10 minutes max :? Easier if you jack the front of the car right up.
