Hey all,

Im new to this forum, so Hiya... my name is Natasha :D

I was thinking about buying this FTO... but when i took it for a test drive i can feel the auto trans slipping. Im a Manual girl myself, so i was just wondering how hard or easy it is to do a manual conversion on an FTO.
All i know about this FTO is that it is a 1995 and its a 4spd Auto in it atm.

Has anyone converted their FTO from auto to manual? How much do you think it would set me back? Any info on this would be really handy! i want to work out if its worth buying it.

Thank you in advance :D

one of the vic members (mxysxy) did a auto to manual conversion recently.

he posted all the details here -
http://www.ftoaustralia.com/modules.php ... ic&t=10124

if you need any advice just PM max... i'm sure he'll help you out ;)
he may take a while to reply though, he's pretty busy these days.

there's also a thread on FTO UK but you'll need to sign up to see it -

p.s. welcome to the club :D

WTTC. :D

agreed with I8AFRE, it's way more complicated then just swapping out the gearbox.

keep on searching and one will come up eventually. ;)

Itll cost you around the 2K mark. There are about 10 different things you need to swap over. If you end up wanting to go ahead with this I can dig up the list of bits. Finding them might be interesting too. FTO 5 speeds arent the easiest things to come by.

Seriously though why bother if you havent already brought the car. I can understand someone buying an auto modifying it and then thinking he id love this to be manual and then doing the swap but if you havent brought the car yet just buy a manual..... well thats my 2 cents worth :D
