What things should i be checking if my engine light comes on. It will stay for a little while and then turn off. And i don't mean when i first start the car. This is whilst i am driving.

Is it the engine management light ?....this happened to my mums car (after i was driving it) and when we took it to the service station they said something along the lines of "when the car is revved to much (constantly), there is normally not enough time for the air/carbon monoxide (whatever it is) to escape the exhaust, therefore it goes back into the engine again"....they said something like that...i might have misuderstood if that sounds wrong but yea...
Im sure with someone more knowledgeable will come along.

I thought that light was oil pressure? If I'm worng I'm sure some one will correct me but if it is losing oil pressure, I'd be calling a mechanic and not driving it.

Sorry confusing oil light with engine light. Oil is second from the bottom on the left. Engine is the top of those four lights (on the left). The handbook says it could be an issue with the electrical system or engine itself. Maybe check the error codes?
Check the handbook to make sure it is the same warning light though.
