I know brah
Bwahaha you funny bastard, why ignore me on msn!
All up it was $1295 including fitting balancing aligning etc and some freebies like packing my tires for transport and red valve caps
Bargain, but they were on sale! Normally for the tire alone it's well over $400

Took the car for a spin tonight seeing as the roads were dry...
So are these tires any good ? *giggle giggle grin grin*
Lol i think that pretty much sums it up. To give an idea on grip...i was doing a medium downhill sweeper in 3rd (6 gear box), engine sitting in power band, and gave it a damn good foot full, no hesitation... just gripped and rocketed on. This is a fwd, turning going downhill with 400nm suddenly shoved into it. And i haven't felt the tirewall roll yet...
Lol harry90, yeah the shots are of the 3, my fto's underbody was nowhere near that clean plus had surface rust spots (very light) on some of the underside.

powerband in 3rd gear is where my street tyres let go
hows the stopping distance?

red valve caps are usually put on when you get them nitrous filled.
is that what you had done?

Stopping distance is better. Honestly everything is better except for cold performance and possibly wet performance. Otherwise it's improvement in grip, steering feel and weight (lower profile, more rubber on road), less roll feeling (stiffer and smaller sidewalls).
I'd recommend them in a heartbeat... to be honest i don't think i'll be going back to street tires. Maybe i'll try a more aggressive set of semis next time round...maybe.
Oh, no on the nitrous filled...i just asked for them because they're pretty, seriously
I had nitrous filled tires on the fto, that was good but i want to play with these, especially when it gets tracked.

Yep, once you had stickies its hard to go back!

Im currently running the RS2's & Im hooked. They even perform well in the wet too, did 2000kms on them to QLD & back thru the sh*t weather & didnt have any problems at all.
Mind you, after 6 months with them on, I've gone thru about 50% tread

good work...
not so agressive tread on those, how is the road noise?
Posted: Tue Jan 22, 2008 2:00 pm
by Delvance
Ay, the tread isn't heaps aggressive. Not a dedicated track semi though, so i don't mind. Road noise is actually pretty good, it's quieter than my stock oem tires which were bridgestones re050a. The stockies were a little louder and the grip was fairly good. These ride better than the stockies too
Lol, yes yes it will be hard going back Bennoz...i don't think i'll bother trying to be honest lol. I'm aware of the horrendous tread wear on semis but it's oh so worth it! Apparently these should be good for about 20,000 kays or so. Not too bad...
Closer pics ??? How much closer do you want it ??
Speaking of aggressive semis...my mate's gonna be running on bridgestone re555s soon...that will be interesting.
