Turbine in the Air Filter/Hose

Hey Guys,

I have just recently put in a steel turbine inside the air filter.

I tested the turbine - i rev the engine and as i reved, the turbine fully spins. then i put a K&N cone filter on the top of it

what i want to know is, does this increase the air flow into the engine OR does the turbine restrict airflow and the spining of it is just crap?

does anyone know or has tried it and put it on a dyno ?

i read an article about that in Hot 4's once before.

they tried it using a guage that told them how much air was getting into the engine and how effectively it was doing it.

they came to the conclusion that it simply restricts the air flow.

it won't suck it in any faster because it's not forcing air in like a turbo would.

load of crap! Also if the turbine is inside the filter then obviously if it breaks you'll be up for serious dollars to repair your engine.

Why don't you do a couple of dyno tests, one with it in, one without, and see for your self ;)

LOL huh? what are u talkin about

the turbine is an independent moving part thats been clamped into the air piping and cannot go further in because of the pipe getting thinner towards the middle

the worst thing it could possibly do is restrict the air flow....

it would not cause any damage to my internals....

Granted the whole turbine couldn't be sucked up the air intake because it just wouldnt fit your right there.............. but that doesnt stop little bits from breaking off due to wear, stress, or it being made from cheap materials!!!....... and those little bits that will fit up the intake from entering your engine and being somewhere it shouldnt.
