I was getting up to speed rapidly, in 2nd gear, and as soon as i hit 7000rpm, engine completely shut down! cd player was fine, everything else electrical was fine. I put it into 4th and let the clutch out, and it started up again. What the hell would make it do something like that?!

I have no idea, but I wouldn't take it over 4000rpm until you have it checked by your mechanic. Thats not..good.

Maybe fuel though?

Ummm......maybe don't drive around at 7000rpm....LOL.

Or, sell me your front bar and rear wing, then sell your car as a GPX and buy a car without MIVEC !!!

there's nothing wrong with revving that hard, or else they would have limited it (and not rivalled it with the type R). I didnt buy the car to feather it, or to make it the best it can be for the next owner, i bought it for me, you know that!

and it sounds fantastic, it inspires me to hit MIVEC in mine !!!

How long had you been driving the car?

Was it warm?

The ECU will cut fuel if the car is cold and revved hard.

the car completely stalled, it didnt cut back/ limit on fuel, and it was very warm, being at operating temp for over an hr

I think it may be either something to do with the fuel supply or something more complicated in the electrics.

My initial method would be to wait and see if it does it again. It doesn't seem to me that it will cause any engine damage by you driving it, and the FTO engines are made to REV.

You never know you could of got a really dirty batch of fuel and the fuel filter just clogged up for a few seconds. It's not a very easy problem to troubleshoot and even if you take it to a mechanic they will screw around and charge you an arm and a leg.

Just my opinion only...

i'm thinking its just the fuel filter as well, its only ever done that once before, and under same circumstances. time for a service...
