I got broken into today
Would you believe in broad daylight in the small work carpark behind our office in the middle of the city. People are going in and out all the time and its still not safe.
No windows broken and no stuffed locks (not sure what this means......)
Steering column brackets were bent to blazes and they tore off the rubber liner that sticks to the metal bit above the window (on the outside of the car). Have fixed the brackets and none of the plastic covers were broken or wires cut, but now im more than a little worried about a return visit.

At this stage

At this stage, all I can identify as missing is the rubber liner that sticks on the metal bit that runs around the top of the window.

Oh
f**k! Bad luck mate.
Seems strange they would do it in broad daylight in such a busy place as you say as well. Even stranger is not taking anything, seems like they were after the car itself if they went straight to the steering and nowhere else.
Absolute scum I swear.

immobiliser

Have an expensive immobiliser on it, just dont have the siren. Im guessing they went the coathanger (didnt know it was that easy) and were after the car itself. Im thinking they must either own an FTO or know someone who does though. Otherwise, why take the weather strip. If they wanted to damage the car, it would have been a lot easier to do with a key (wince).
Might have to put a siren in the cabin itself im thinking.

Lucky they haven't nicked anything or broken too much other than the rubber seal thing..

it could be easier ... & worse - a rock through the window is all it takes..
even if you had an alarm it wouldn't do much good unless it had a pager feature to alert you if someone's breaking in .. People these days don't pay any attention to alarms going off & it pisses me off.. at least with a pager you'll have half a chance of being able to run to your car & get a few good right hooks & a roundhouse fly kick to the head for good measure!
