Hi guys this message to those who own incar lcd dvd player. I went through a random breathe test unit and they saw my dvd player turned on with screen on as well. Well the constable mentioned he is giving me a warning for that also claimed that the lcd is a distraction while your driving. So it turned out ok and i wasnt drink driving. I thought many of you might not know this which is the reason why i posted this because i had no idea car lcd dvd players were against the law.

kind regards to all members of fto

Didn't think they were against the law.. But they have to be hooked up to the park brake so you can only watch when the car is stopped...

yeah they are illegal unless they came with the car, or is used for navigation only. Ive got mine programmed to display short clip of navigation software if i get pulled over for anyreason. I dont watch movies while iam driving, but i have equaliser's running with my music on it. So yeah if i get pulled over, i just set it to the other clip which pretends that iam on navigation! lol if the cops actually look at it properly they would realise that it obviously doesnt display the right street! lol

Yeah the screen has to be either not visable to the driver or connected so that only can be watched while in park or for using GPS

Why wouldn't you just turn it off?

Oh i would turn it off but only if i know that hey havent seen it turned on already! Coz i have been pulled over just for the reason that they saw my LCD screen but when i told them i use it for navigation, they have a quick look and their off on their way

They must be up high to see it in an FTO but I guess there's always reflections. When I first had my GPS it was distracting and heaps of people have those in silly positions too.
