drivin every frieken day on highways and bends everytime i turn sometimes my guards start rubbing from my front wheels
any tips on how to fix this.. i have absolutely chewed the plastic bits under the guards.. when goin over dips in the road while doin 80 - 110
scrapes. i have low springs on .. but they aint too low.. my tyres are nexcen n2000 or someshit. not sure but ever since i got these tyres been rubbin when turning into driveways and sh*t and dont wanna go and spend money on new tyres just yet.. but is there any quick fix to this problem ? should i get new springs. or get my old ones repaired or something.. oh and i still have my stock fto rims on .!!
are any of you guys having same problem ?

yeap, i've got the same problem and still havent fixed it proberly yet, you could either get new thinner tyres or get new springs to make your car abit higher. What i did was pushed the inner guard in a little bit so its not so loud when i turn.

Im not sure if this is the BEST thing to do, but what i did was grab a really sharp knife, cut out your guards where the rubbing is caused - just dont cut out the lower part on the left hand side which protects your gearbox - other than that yeah just slice em up a bit, try and keep it neat, and that fixed up 90% of my scrubbing issues, hwo big are your rims??
this only happened when i bought 18's and lowered it too low
the stupid guy at the mechanics said it would look sweet if i lowered it to this point.. which it does look nice.. but yeah..
you will still get the scrubs when you hit a BIG dip.

Exactly where is it rubbing? I went to great lengths to stop my 18's rubbing without resorting to much knife work. I used the anti lift castor bushes on the rear of the front control arms to stop the rubbing on the back of the plastic arch, I then used a 3mm spacer (illegal) behind the wheel to stop rubbing at the front.....

OH MY GOD.
you guys have 17" and 18"S
i have my frieken 16" standard wheels on and geting this rubbing !!
this mean my car is too low ?

yeah it probably is too low, i dropped mine 3.5 inches from stock.. so it scrubbed pretty hard, another thing about the size of the rims,
it sorta doesn't matter too much about the size of the rim, because your actual tyres would be bigger, where as Bennoz and
i with the 18's have lower profile tyres.built for looks not for comfort hahah.. so size difference wouldn't be by much i dont think...
again about being too low.. the highest part of my front bar (front center) can JUST slide an upright coke can under it,
if yours is any lower than that you wont have a front bar for much longer.. and you should probly raise it an inch or so.
ALSO if you want to see exactly where your scrubbing take the wheel right off, and look at all the possible scrubbing sections,
should be easy to find if they have scrubbed for long enough

ok just tried puttin a coke can under it.. wont fit .. !!
haha maybe 3 - 4 cms to low.
what do you think i should do ?
how do i raise my ride ? i dont wanna go out and buy new springs and get a wheel balance etc .
im up for new tyres soon. should i get thin ones?
any recomendations on tight ass wage ?
somewhere around the 400 - 600 mark for set of 4

i got 17"s with 35 profile tyre and tyres sitting an inch from the guards, and i dont get any scrubbing at all! must have something to do with offset as well (obviously)

What a comedy of errors
The car is too low, the offset is fine if you are on standard rims. I'd suggest finding a set of King springs. They'll cost you $200 & find a mate in the suspension shop that'll put 'em on for a case of beer.

so your suggesting a new pair of springs. cause the springs i have on are king springs

Yeah but if have trouble fitting a coke can under the front bar, then you've got the super lows... perhaps move up to the regualr lowering height ones (ie 2 inch as opposed to 3 & 1/2)

No he means profile as in size of tyre, the stock tyre size is 205*50*R16. what does it say on your tyres?
