Normally I would have said on, but looking at the 2 photos, I prefer the second for some reason.

If it's the gpx spoiler, i vote off...cleaner look but if you find a version r spoiler, i vote on for sure! Rare-ish though but i reckon it's the best spoiler for the fto. In my opinion, nothing comes close factory or aftermarket... i miss it

I went no-spoler a couple of months ago - still very happy with it, and the comments it's got.
But then again, I have got a VersionR spoiler in the garage if I ever change my mind!

I have toyed with the idea myself ... But prefer the look with it on...
I would love to get my hands on a Version R spoiler too ....

i got mine done at the start of the year.
any body shop should be able to do it in...
fill/sand/re-spray - cost approx. $350-$400
pics here -->
http://www.ftoaustralia.com/modules.php ... 58&start=0
i also got the exterior of the boot lock removed at the same time.
looks cleaner but it's kinda an inconvenience having to pull the latch
inside the car every time you wanna open the boot.
also makes it harded for anyone to break into your boot
if you've got a lot of car audio gear in there

Tape.
Until you can afford to fill the holes.

is there any other alternatives... cos i dont really have $400 to spare... and tape would look kinda dodgy i think

there's clip thingos that u can get to plug the holes... i've seen them somewhere on some car... but unfortunately i cant be much more helpful than that

lol
P.S. u know u could've just photo shopped it to see what it looks like

why do it in the real world when u can do it the lazy way lol

Rubber grommits may do the job. Any auto store will have them

Normally i'm a big bodykit person but in the case of the FTO and the GPX spoiler, i have to say it does look better.
In saying that, the Version R spoiler looks great.
Does anyone know if the Version R spoiler fits in the same holes as the GPX spoiler or do you have to re-drill new holes into the bootlid ?

If you cant afford too get the holes filled properly and repainted, then you have your answer............. leave it on. IMO

The propper VersionR and the standard GPX/GR have different holes. At least mine did.
Although got a feeling that the VR spoiler covers the original holes, so it should just be a matter of drilling new ones.

If you're not happy with just having Tape plugging the holes for now, then do as Simon said & just leave it on.
Otherwise save your money & have a go at fixing it up yourself. $30 for a can of paint & $15 for a tub of bog. if you aren't happy with the job you do, then by all means go & pay $400 to get the holes filled & the boot repainted, but to me, that is way too much money.

this sounds like a cheap and easy alternative. i would in fact spend $400 on fixing the boot lid... but i dont have that much money just lying around, therefore need a better alternative. rubber grommits sound like those things that close sinks and stop the water going out ? i think that might work... ill see if i can get any

hey if your going butcher your baby and then not get professional cosmetic surgery just use tape its gonna look just as cheap and nasty as grommets IMO
