Does anyone know if there are any differences between the GPX & versionR ECU's ?

My mate has just installed a Mine's ECU in his versionR & is having problems with it, I've been on the Mine's site and it lists only FTO GPX, also noticed his original ECU is in a small black plastic case whereas my GPX ECU is in a bigger metal case.

Any ideas anyone?

Do u know which version of Mine ECU your mates got??? I know Mine make two type of ECU, one for track & one for road use. The track one will eliminate the use of air-con.

I assume your mate had done a dyno tune after the installation. I had the same problem with my other car when I put the Yamoto ECU in it, it took 3 dyno tune before it was really running properly. But then again, it was the track version.

I didn't realise they made 2 versions - no idea which one he's got.
I was under the impression though (after speaking to another owner who installed one in his FTO) that it was just a plug&play thing, no need for any kind of tuning?

He doesn't have aircon anyway so that's not an issue.
The problem he's getting is that once moderatly warmed up, his car is stalling at tickover - it's ok from cold & after it's really warm after a good long run.
