Lots of posts on this done before. General thought is that it's best to buy water pump and cambelt yourself, then take with you to your mechanic... the mark up in ozzy for these parts in Australia is
Get some new leads while your at it and get them put in at same time. Magnecor are good. Made a big difference to mine.

How good is the good price?
I got quoted 450-500 just to change the timing belt, water pump and adjusting the tappets. That's labour only.

$450.00 sounds about right.
It took me about 5 hours to change on my first attempt. You have to remove so much sh*t just to get to it its not funny.
Parts for a 100k service add up!
Sparkies $70 bucks 3 x platinum 3 x normal
Belt $100-$150
Tensioner and water pump about 200????
Oil/Filter $70
Thats already $500.00 bucks worth just there. You could pay more if you go genuine etc.

do you have to change the tensioner?

I think so, because they were down and the bearings wear out. If one failed I'm sure it could cause some major engine damage.
Please someone correct me if I'm wrong.

dont have to but recommended. Its just like saying you dont have to change your belt at 100000k it wont break but sooner or later it will.
