suspension...how long is a piece of string? Get some Konis that are dampening adjustbale. Or get some cheap OEM replacements..

oil : Mit. specifices a SP rated fluid, you can get it from the Mitsi shop pretty cheap. Other people who dextron III etc but I use the SPII/III rated and mine shifts pretty sweet and always has so I stick to it. Not to mention the technical reasons why.

umm, what kind of noisy...? plenty of different things that it could be ...

Buggered droplinks (main one making clunking noises), bushes, struts, springs, swaybar etc .. or it could be something else..

Tell us what exactly is going wrong & we'll help you out .. are you experiencing as problems with your ride other than noise? Bounciness, harshness, etc??

as KJ mentioned you've got a choice of Adj. Koni's or some OE replacements (KYB Excel-G Gas Strut) .. you can also upgrade to some Adj Coilovers like Teins etc..

Best way though - Take your car in to Fulcrum Suspensions for a free suspension check.. www.fulcrumsuspensions.com.au

Most common noises are shot droplinks, worn anti roll bar bushes, worn strut tops... in that order.

Droplinks will give you a either a crunch over a speed hump when you first drive the car for the day, or a light knocking over bumpy roads.

ARB's will give you the same sort of the knocking over bumpy roads.

Strut tops can give a squeak or a big clunk over bumpy roads.

Replacing

Dont think there is a set time frame. You should replace them when they start getting noisy or start to sffect the handling. With the struts, if they start to leak, they need to be replaced. There are stacks of places that will give you a free/low cost suspension check - thats the best way to go.

As to cost, it can get quite expensive if you do the lot. Strut tops are $70 odd per side to buy I know. There are OEM shocks on the RPW site from memory - cant remember the price, but it sounded pretty reasonbable at the time.

my Koni adjustbale set with a few slight extras cost abour $2k fitted a few years back. drop links are just over ~$100 per set after conversion and shipping from memory (i.e. 200 for front and back)
