You'd need an aftermarket ECU to do that.

There are better ways to get them to pull harder. Going over the rev limiter runs you out past the cam range & is effectively pointless and destructive to the motor. If you havent got it breathing & exhausting better than stock, then thats where I'd start.

well current mods are apexi filter and intake and full xzorst system on it with 3" pipe
well atm i got 150,000kms on my speedo but i also have a 50,000kms engine waiting for a change over but yeh wanna try some crazy sh*t before i change it over. LOLs.

atm yeh jus recently like a week ago i tried it on the great ocean rd in VIC every gear i changed was nearly to the 7000rpm mark engine still goin fine still no oil leaks. i wounda when will the engine blow coz few friends got it n they just hate FTO coz they run sh*t n leaks oil everywhere.
which mine doesnt thank god.

what afta market ecu is most efficent or value for money to get.

next mod is Buddy Clubs QF 17" for daily drive n Buddy Clubs SF 16" for track. but track rims can wait.

Apexi RSM is the cheapest i know of to bybass rev limit.

Got up to 9200prm on a dyno once, because the noob doing the dyno just have no idea.

9200rpms ??? Lol nice! Lucky nothing let go then Kev...

I've found with some ok bolt on mods, the mivec cams will still make power at cutout so raising it a few extra rpms will give you extra power. Gotta understand that raising it too much and revving there will most likely eventually having a bolt let go or a rod snapped etc...good if you like holes on your engine block haha. But yeah..i always toyed with the idea in my head too...

not worth it an doubt it will give u any more power...as Ben said. Give it a go and tell us how it goes...Apexi RSM would be a cheap mod as suggested and easy to wire.

LOL give it 20psi and it will be lucky to last 20mins. And then we see him on those so called Current Affair, labeled "Hoon at it again"

it 'could' rev as much as you want, the safe limit is @ 8000 (or i think more like 8200 for the FTO) Engine will go nova if you push it too much with delimiting it

Yeah but you bascaily implied its a shock to take the FTO over 8000rpm when it the cut out for the GR is 8250 rpm and the GPX is 8500rpm??

If you said 9000rpm or 10000rpm then yes that will be a problem.

Revving any engine near its cut out is always bad, its common sense. Obviously with high revolutions your internlas are more highly stresses and physically it will break with time. The reason why a rev limiter is put in place is so these internals dont pass the stress levels they are designed for. Piston speeds are massive problems with high rpm. The FTO high rev limit is due to the short stroke of the motor, if the FTO had a stoke of say 90-100 mill it will had a rev limit closer to 7000 rpm, but piston speeds will be similar in a sense.
